Agios Nikolaos:
Beach
The most notable tourist sight in Agios Nikolaos is 'Lake' Voulismeni
in the centre of the town which is rumoured to be bottomless,
according to local folk-lore. The lake is not actually a lake
at all as it is in fact connected to the sea. Whether or not it
is bottomless is best left for the locals to decide, but the lake
was certainly deep enough for the retreating German army to dispose
of all their tanks during WWII.
