Lerapetra:
Beachfront
Lerapetra is located on the south-east of Crete and claims to be
the southernmost town in Europe. This part of water on the Mediteranean
is known as the Libyan Sea and is all that lies between Crete and
Africa. The town is built on what is regarded as the longest beach
on Crete, and is very popular with tourists. Fresh fish and seafood
are regularly available from the numerous restaurants, and there
are countless tavernas and bars to keep you occupied throughout
the night.
