Rethymnon lies on the north coast of Crete and boasts one of the
largest sand beaches on the island at 12km long. 80 km to the east
of Rethymnon is the capital Iraklion and roughly 60 km to the west
is the port of Chania . There are approximately 20.000 inhabitants
in Rethymnon and the town is home to numerous restaurants, hotels,
clubs, bars, and tavernas.
