Lesvos is a beautiful, fertile island situated
in the north Aegean Sea, rich in history and character. Until
recently this large island was virtually untouched as a tourist
destination to all but the Greeks themselves. The main industry
is olive production so the island is littered with millions of
olive trees and lots of small villages all harvesting the olives
and shipping them from the capital Mytiline, oblivious to the
tourists. An excellent place to explore there are many Byzantine
castles, award winning beaches, excellent seafood restaurants
and traditional little villages. Lesvos is truly a place to discover
the real Greece.
