Kastelli is the site of an ancient city where temples were constructed
for the various Greek gods and goddesses, such as those dedicated
to the goddess Artemis. The site was also home to the great Monastery
of Patmos, which (it is believed) was built around the 11th century.
Kastelli will appeal to most tourists from any background but
will be of special interest to people with an historical interest.
