Patmos, located in the Aegean Sea is a narrow
and rocky island with stunning, mountainous natural beauty. The
coastline is indented with many lovely beaches set amongst trees
and greenery, the best of which is near the village of Kambos.
It was here (on Patmos) that St.John was inspired to write the
Book of Revelation or Apocalypse after being exiled here between
95 and 97 A.D. The impressive holy monastery of Patmos was founded
by the monk Chritodoulas Letrines in honour of the Apostle. A
unique island with something to offer everyone.
