Blue Caves:
Motorboat tours
The Blue Caves on the northern tip of the island are one of the
top tourist attractions on Zante, along with the shipwreck in
Smugglers Cove. The caves themselves are a number of geological
formations in the cliffs below Cape Skinari and take their name
from the blue colour of the water, caused by the effect of the
sunlight on the water. The caves can only be reached by sea and
there are endless amounts of boat operators (from almost any
point on the island) that are willing to transfer you by coach
to a boat that takes you to the caves. A sight seeing must.
